CANMORE, ALBERTA – And then it was over.

No, I’m not talking about Covid-19. Nor illiberal talk about vaccine passports or even vaccine efficacy.

Nor am I talking about the pull out from Afghanistan – and the end of 20 years of complete failure to FORCE a country to become like us.

Nor even our election. Since we are still in the thick of it. All parties claiming, of course, that they have THE solution to all of our problems. Including housing, wealth, health and security…..

Since the “solutions” are the same as they always have been – none will work..

But, no, I am talking about SUMMER!

Yes, I know, officially that date is supposed to be Sep 21st. But I gotta tell you, that when Aug 21^st rolls around here in the Canadian Rockies, 2 gorgeous months AFTER the longest day of the year, the days are noticeably shorter, the nights much colder with day-time temperatures barely hitting 20C. (68 F for my American friends)

And the leaves are turning on some of the trees.

Many of my wife’s flowers are beginning to whither.

The sun is disappearing behind the mountains at 7:00pm – which is a nuisance for our Men’s tennis night as we have yet another hour to finish play. 😊

And more importantly for you. Two thirds of this year have come and gone. Have you accomplished what you wanted? Is the business paying you what you wanted back in January? Do you have plans in place to ensure that the next 4 months go the way you hope?

If not, what do you need to change – now?

Because you can’t change the past. It is gone. Never to return.

What do you need to do now to get to where you want to go?

Here’s a very simple recipe. Determine what you need to:

• Continue doing
• Stop doing
• Do more of
• Do less of
• Start doing

That’s it!

Set aside 2-4 hours of quiet, uninterrupted time and conduct a simple “Stop and Re-Assess” exercise. Write out a list of everything in each category above.

You’ll be amazed how this will give you clarity. Give you confidence. Help you craft a plan to ensure the year ends as you want. Not as you hope.
